gratuities of the retired local government civil
servants, prompt payment of primary school
teachers and also to assist the farmers within the
area with agricultural Imputes such as fertilizer and other Agro-Chemicals that can help for bumper
harvest. “Our women have been scavenging for water
around the bush, we often struggle for water with
Pigs, we are in need for portable water and it has
been a serious challenge, Sir the people of this
area will never forget your name if you can rescue
us in the area of water” one of the delegates stated. Responding to the requests, Governor Ishaku said
his administration was conscious on payment of
salaries of workers in the state, he lamented that
there were civil servants who were out to
sabotage his efforts on the prompt payment of
salaries for their personal gains. “Am aware that Taraba is a civil servants state and
I don’t joke with the issues of prompt payment of
workers salaries, we have some few people who
were feeding fat on the salaries of others and they
are fighting strong to ensure that the impunity
continues but as am talking to you, my government is on top of the matter, those who are
found wanting must face the law” “For us to tackle the issues of ghost workers at
local government level, I have decided to stop the
process of e payment to local government
workers in the month of March, we are going to
conduct table payment in the present of security
and anybody who is found as a ghost worker must face the law”
