See 5 Things You Should Avoid As A Struggling Guy (Especially No. 3,4)

We all have our struggling days. Most wealthy people you know in the society today all had their struggling days; except you were born with a silver spoon. It is nothing to be ashamed of because as the Bible puts it: ‘Do not despise the days of humble beginnings’. What is killing is when you make it a habit to be there everyday to oblige your urge for alcohol! …

Nollywood is Dead By Emeka Ike

Who doesn't know Emeka Ike? The Nollywood lover boy/badboy is one of the stars you must have missed on your TV screen for quite a while due to the alleged lull in the industry. Morakinyo Olugbiji had a chat with the father of three in Lagos on Sallah Day.It's been quite a while I saw u feature in a new movie...No body is making any movie in Nigeria at the moment and that's why you have not seen me featured in any lately. I'm trying to re-strategize. Part's of the problem has to do with the problem in AGN and I'm hoping that once the court delivers its judgment, I will take back my position in AGN as President. Is Nigeria Ready for Industrialisation?

Although policy makers in the country are focused on steering the economy out of recession, Obinna Chima wonders if the country is ready for industrialisationSince Nigeria gained independence, every government talks about some form of industrial policy aimed at stimulating industrial growth and transforming the economy from being import-dependent to manufacturing. This has seen successive governments introduce various policies to help drive their quest for industrialisation.Unfortunately, the results have been disappointing as things continue to remain the same.
Some of the factors that have stalled the country’s industrialisation story include policy summersault, market failure, lack of political will and market distortion.Indeed, the slow pace of Nigeria’s industrialisation is responsible for the nation’s disappointing performance in translating growth into good jobs and poverty reduction. That is why whenever commodity prices decline and global grow slows, the country is always affec…

Digital economy: Nigeria must leverage its techpreneurs

At the Organisation of Oil Producing Exporting Countries (OPEC) meeting in Russia two months ago, the body called its OPEC and several non-OPEC members to cut oil output by a combined 1.8 million bpd from January 2017 until the end of March 2018. Following agreement from the meeting, the Minister of State and Petroleum Resources, Dr. Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu, on July 25, 2017 announced that Nigeria has agreed to its cap oil output at 1.8 million barrels per day (bpd) from projected 2.2mbpd. Although the deal cap does not immediately affect Nigeria there have been renewed calls to diversify Nigeria’s economy.“Oil contributes about 17 per cent or so to the GDP. The sector employs less than 20, 000 people. It generates about 90 per cent of government receipt or revenue. This is not healthy at all, generally speaking. This is one reason we have been clamouring for other sources of revenue generation other than oil,” Dr Austin Nwaeze, a lecturer at the Pan Atlantic University (PAU) Lagos, sai…
