The Danger Of Living Without Christ (II) By Lazarus Muoka

It is a great comfort to Christians, to know that
Christ has overcome the world, that is, all
things in the world, which may hinder the
believer’s comfort. The privilege or power to be
an over-comer only abides in those who are
believers indeed. If you are a Christian you are conferred the privilege to be a soldier as long
as you are a believer, and as far as you are a
soldier you are a conqueror. But if a believer abuses the pri-vileges of the
grace of God made available to him by
continuing in iniquity and evil he will not have
the moral justification to continue to parade
himself as overcomer because he is certainly
not one. If he dies in such condition he will head straight to hellfire and even in this world
he will suffer crisis and devoid of any form of
divine protection. If the unbelievers, the wicked, the hypocrites
and unrighteous want to escape the danger
posed by the world, they must come out of
their sins, out of their hypocrisy, un-
righteousness, and make up their mind to live
the rest of their life according to the will of God. We should not forget that God will judge
every sin that a man involves himself into. If
you are found guilty you will be cast into hell
fire except you confess those sins committed
in the open and in the secret because nothing
is hidden before God and the wick-ed shall not go unpunished. Ecclesiastes 12:14 says, “For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every
secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it
be evil.” Every person must give an account of his /her
stewardship to God, and everything done
without Christ will be judged. And not only
outward and visible actions will be subjected to
judgment, but even secret thoughts. In
consider-ation of this, we should be highly concerned now to be very strict in our walk
with God that we may give our account with
joy. Job 11:20 says: “But the eyes of the wicked shall fail, and they shall not escape, and their
hope shall be as the giving up of the ghost.” There is an inherent danger in living without
Christ in your life. Those without Christ are the
wick-ed that shall receive the punish-ment due
to their deserts, for God has His eye
continually upon them to pay them according to
their deeds. They shall continually be looking out for help and deliver-ance but their
expectation shall be cut off. They shall never
obtain deliverance out of their distresses, but
shall perish in them. If you claim to be a Christian but the things you
do are contrary to what you claim to be then
you are a friend of the world and by the
simplest implication an enemy of God. You
should examine your life, avoid this imminent
danger and repent today and promise God you will do it no more so that you will not be an
enemy of God, and as you do this, salvation
will be yours in Jesus name. James 4:4 says, “Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship
of the world is enmity with God? Whosoever
therefore will be a friend of the world is the
enemy of God.” You are an enemy of the Lord when you break
your marriage covenant with God by loving the
world more than Him; and, by the indulgence of
your carnal inclinations, you have violated
those obligations to self-mortification and self-
denial to which you were bound by your religious engagements. If you want to escape the danger of this world,
you must abide in Him for He alone can save.
Abid-ing in Christ is a great privilege, and a
true and real Christian does truly and really
abide in Christ for safety. The great and
important duty belonging to all those that do abide in Christ, is to walk as Christ walked. They are expected to set example daily for
others to follow as Christ did. Every Christian
is bound to be an imitation of Christ, for no
claim to Christ is or can be valid without a
careful imitation of Him. So, make up your life
for our Lord Jesus Christ by submitting totally to His words and will and as you do this your
Christian life will be graceful and full of Christ-
like fruits. Hebrews 1:9 says: “Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore
God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the
oil of gladness above thy fellows.” To attract the Spirit of God upon your life over
and above others you must hate
unrighteousness and all form of iniquities with
zeal. The unrighteous shall never inherit the
kingdom of God. Anybody who continues in sin is committing
adultery with the spirit of the devil because
having been bought over with the blood of
Jesus you are married to Him and so cannot
afford to be living a double standard life. To escape the danger of the world you must
not be a Christian with double identities, that is
living as a Christian on one hand and on the
other you are into sin. You must live for Him
and in Him for you are the temple of the Lord
and cannot afford to go into the sin of adultery because you are married to Christ. Hebrews 10:7 says: “Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,)
to do thy will, O God.” You must do the will of God in accordance with
the scriptures and nothing else. You must love
and encourage goodliness, and hate and
discourage evil. It is in doing all the above that
the Spirit of Christ will dwell in you, that Spirit
that conquered the world, and you will overcome the danger of the world in Jesus
name.
