Hazezoid’s Tera Ninja Basic PvP Guide

Tera Ninja Basic PvP GuideThis Guide is to show the basic concept of how to pvp on Ninja and to show what each skill is used for as well as to show combos and what to watch for in the pvp scene. IntroductionI felt like it was needed to introduce myself before I went any further into the guide. People commonly refer to me as Luxrays. My main is a reaper on MT. I’ve been competitive in the PvP scene for about 2 years now. I’m currently in a PvP guild called Synergy. In the past, I’ve been a hardcore PvE player who eventually switched to the pvp scene since pve was very boring. I’m confident that I know what I’m talking about because of my accomplishment in pvp. I’ve been Rank 1 Gridiron, Rank 1 Fraywind, Rank 1 Corsairs, and Rank 1 Skyring.I recently made a Ninja alt and started pvping on it. In the beginning, I struggled a bit being in the low 900 Elo range for skying until I self-taught myself how to play ninja and eventually became the first ninja to reach 1400+ in Solo queue witha 90% win rate. I was also the top ninja teams in team queue reaching around 1500 elo in team queue. Gear RollsI’m only going to cover the weapon rolls and chest skill roll since many people have confusion on what to get. c423141bec.jpgWeapon Roll Top Line (Pick One)9% Attack Speed7.2% CDR Attack speed is the best option but I can see CDR being optimal too. Bottom Line7.2% CDR.3 Crit Damage6% Increase Damage6.9% Increase Damage From Behind (Drop if Weapon only has 3 lines) Best in slot Weapon are Imperator Weapon894e115125.png vengeance-robe.gifChest RollDouble Cut – Increase Skill Base Damage by 12%Skyfall – Increase Skill Base Damage by 10%Circle of Steel – Increase Skill Base Damage by 10%Fire Avalanche – 15% CDRMost cases Double Cut is the best roll. Fire Avalanche CDR is only for Fraywind. The CDR on it makes it so it has 100% up-time to snipe every BAM in Fraywind. If you don’t roll it there is downtime between the First Tera (3:40) and First Naga (5:40). After that you should be able to snipe every bam afterwards. Bottom Line6% Reduce Damage6.9% Reduced Frontal Damage6.9% Reduced Knocked Down Damage8% Max HP Best in Slot Chest are Starfall Chest4caff0837f.png robeglove19_e_tex.gifGlove Roll9 Crit Rate5 Power2.25% Attack Speed / 12 Endurance (Conflate Glove) If you can do the full ninja combo without attack speed then you don’t need attack speed. However only roll endurance for Fraywind. The trade-off for attack speed is worth it for the extra endurance. For skyring and duels keep the attack speed. Jewelry Crystalsx4 Indoms Four Indoms give about 12% damage reduction. Trust me never take them off your too squishy as a ninja to not wear them. Skill Usage c12_meleecombo.pngCombo AttackThis is your main stagger skill. This is mainly used to weave staggers together after your main stagger. Learn the timing on this skill so you’re able to stagger chain and lockdown people. This skill is also good to weave in during your combo as it decreases the cooldown of your main damage skill .5 seconds per hit.Double Cut > Auto Attack > Jagged Path > Auto Attack c12_catchback.pngDecoy JutsuDo not use this skill as a gap closer. This skill does not work on a moving target. Best used on stationary target Ex. Lancer Blocking / Zerker Blocking. After Decoy follow up with one of your stagger skill into your combo. However if your opponent ping is lower than your ping it is risky especially if they see it coming. They will be able to stagger you first before you can. Only use this skill as a iframe as a last resort, the iframe timing on this skill is so small it’s near non-existent. c12_dash.pngShadow JumpOne of your main iframe/mobility skill. This skill can animation cancel any one of your other skills so use that to your advantage. You can use this skill twice before it goes on cooldownMost important skills to animation cancel out of is.Thousand Cuts Ending animation.Bladestorm Ending animation.Circle of Steel Ending animation. c12_twinslash.pngDouble CutOne of your main staggering/damage skills. Use this skills to gap close and catch people. Once you catch them with the stagger setup with a stun afterwards. This skills crits quite often and moves you forward. This skill has a relatively low cool down so don’t be hesitate to use it in order to pressure the opponent. c12_airstepstrike.pngSkyfallThis skill provides no utility however it makes up for it by how hard it hits. Mainly use this skill after a stagger or stun. This skill is also nice to use a on KD target which has no retaliate. As long as you keep using double cut you should have the powerlink chain on at all time. c12_dashattack.pngJagged PathOne of your main mobility skill. This skill staggers if it hits a target during the dash animation. Use this to your benefit as you can chase down a target and get the stagger into stun. However this skill has a tendency to desync chakra thrust. Personally after I land jagged path I follow up with a auto attack into double cut and then go into chakra thrust. This skill also locks on to where your cursor is so instead of going straight all of the time, it will move towards your target. Use that to your advantage. c12_rotateslash.pngCircle of SteelOne of your hardest hitting skill. Use the sky fall Powerlink for this skill to do the full damage on a stunned target. This skill never gets back crit because after the first hit lands and knocks them into the air their back gets angled away from you. The only time this skills gets back crit is when the opponent either has kaia shield or rallying cry. This skill ends stuns so be sure to use as many skills as possible in a stun before using this. c12_rapidslash.pngOne Thousand CutsThis skill hits hard with all the total hits added up. This skill is a long iframe as well as staggering your enemy during the use of this skill. Make sure your opponent blows their escape skills before using this skills or else they could iframe out of the stagger. Personally, I use this skill as a finisher or when I’m low on health and need to survive. Be careful of the animation lock at the end which makes you vulnerable. However attack speeds gets rids of vulnerability frame and also the animation lock can be canceled with shadow jump. DO NOT USE THOUSAND CUTS AFTER CHAKRA THRUST. I swear I see too many ninjas use the Chakra Thrust > Thousand Cut combo which is completely stupid. There are much better skills to use that does more damage and thousand cuts can be saved to continue pressure after you end your stun combo. c12_tornadoshot.pngBladestormThis is an amazing peeling skill or combo extender. I mainly use this skill to either group up opponents or use for the 100-0 combo. However do not hesitate to use this skill to peel. This skill provides so much utility that it can be used for anything. However DO NOT USE THIS SKILL IF THE ENEMY HAS KAIA or RALLY CRY. This skill will be wasted while accomplishing nothing. Save this skill for the perfect situation to get the most out of it. This skill can be used as a 100-0 combo which i will show later in the combo section. c12_flamebomb.pngImpact BombThis skill is great for either providing mobility or peeling. However DO NOT USE THIS SKILL TO DO DAMAGE OR END YOUR STUN. A neat little combo you can do to maximize damage is Circle of Steel (Animation cancel before the last hit goes off) > Impact Bomb. c12_rapidshot.pngLeaves on the WindAt first I thought this skill was completely useless however I have found ways to weave this into my combo to add in extra damage. Besides that do not just randomly throw this out. It’s damage is weak with no utility. Your better off doing other things rather than using this skill. I will show later on in the combo section how to maximize damage with your combo with this skill c12_flamebreath.pngBurning HeartDon’t Use this in PvP. Delete your ninja if you use this in PvP. c12_chakracharge.pngAttunementOnly use for this skill if to gain chi for Fire avalanche and the speed cast glyph on it. Neat trick to do is use this skill and cancel it before the ending animation happens. If you do this you get the 10 second buff for speed cast on fire Avalanche which is crucial for landing it. This skill is best canceled with Shadow Jump or Decoy Jutsu. This skill is crucial for Avalanche for even being viable in pvp which I will explain later in my combo section. c12_evadestingshot.pngChakra ThrustYour main stun skill and your only stun. This skill has a low CD so use it whenever you can. Make sure you also setup for this skill by having your target staggered for this. When you stagger a opponent move back a little before using this skill. This skill desyncs alots so moving back a little before casting helps makes this skills land more often. I recently found out that the better computer you have the less this skill desyncs which is [filtered]. If you have issues landing this skill think about upgrading your computer lol. c12_rotateshurikenshot.pngDeath BlossomThis skills does moderate damage and KD’s ur target. It’s a good combo extender if your target does not have retal or straight up peel skill. When you use this skill and KDs a target their back will be facing you. If my opponents has no retal I usaully follow up by a skyfall then circle of steel. c12_smokebomb.pngSmoke BombThis is your emergency go to skill when you are in danger. You can also use this on top on your healer if they are in danger. In solo queue if you sync well with your healer you can place this on top of them when they are trying to rez your teammate. When you’re low on health and use this try not to move as much to give your healer a easier time to lock on to you and if possible focus the person focusing you while staying in the radius of the smoke circle. There any many are neat tricks to use with this for example. Smoke bomb your teammate warrior when he backstabs into a continuous stun combo that can’t be peeled. c12_flamestrike.pngFire AvalancheWhich the recent changes to Fire Avalanche in pvp this skill has been nerfed by 50% in terms of pvp damage as well as the KD being removed. I highly suggest to not use this skill unless you have the speed cast from attunement. I will show later on posible combo to use with this skill. c12_atkupbuff.pngFocusIf you can manage your mana well use this to increase your damage. Don’t try keeping up the buff by not getting hit since that’s nearly impossible in pvp. Pop this as soon as you enter the arena as the earlier you cast it the more stacks you have before a fight starts. Don’t use this skill if you’re having mana issues. Glyph BuildThis is what I personally use for PvP PvP With Fire Avalanche (Only Good in Solo Queue)http://www.essentialmana.com/glyph-calc/#ni65:b0:d135:e24:g23:h3:i1:j1:n3:o2:r13 PvP Without Fire Avalanche (Duels and Fraywind and Team Queue)http://www.essentialmana.com/glyph-calc/#ni65:a34:b0:d135:e24:g23:h13:i1:j1:o2 Combos Cookie Cutter ComboJagged Path/Double Cut > Chakra Thrust > Decoy Justsu (Optional Auto Attack once if used.) > Auto Attack x2 > Skyfall > Circle of Steel Leaves of the Wind CutterJagged Path/Double Cut > Chakra Thrust > Skyfall > Leaves of the wind > Circle of Steel Impact Cancel CutterJagged Path/Double Cut > Chakra Thrust > Decoy Jutsu > Skyfall > Auto Attack x1 > Circle of Steel (Animation Cancel before last hit) > Impact Bomb > Leaves of the Wind (Watch for Retal) > Thousand Cuts Cookie Cutter StormJagged Path/Double Cut > Chakra Thrust > Decoy Jutsu > Skyfall > Auto Attack x1 > Bladestorm > Shadow Jump > Leaves of the wind > Death Blossom > Circle of Steel Cookie Cutter Impact StormJagged Path/Double Cut > Chakra Thrust > Decoy Jutsu > Skyfall > Auto Attack x1 > Bladestorm > Shadow Jump > Leaves of the wind > Death Blossom > Circle of Steel (Animation Cancel Before Last Hit) > Impact Bomb (Watch for Retal) > Thousand Cuts Fire Avalanche Combos Basic Fire CutterAttunement Pre-casted > Jagged Path/Double Cut > Chakra Thrust > Fire Avalanche x3 Fire Storm CutterAttunement Pre-casted > Jagged Path/Double Cut > Chakra Thrust > Fire Avalanche x2 > Blade Storm > Shadow Jump > Leaves of the Wind > Death Blossom > Fire Avalanche How To Counter Each Class. Lancer Difficulty 7/10Usually if you go against a lancer they will be the last target you want to focus. If you do however decide to focus one, stagger past their block. This can easily be done by either repositioning with your shadow jump (Decoy Jutsu works but they have more time to react.) to get a stagger into chakra thrust or angling your stagger away from the direction they are blocking with double cut as the skill moves you quite a bit forward. Once stunned continue on with your main combo. If a lancer leashes your healer or dps. This is a good sign they will try to giga. The best thing to do is once you see them leash someone go straight into one-thousand cuts to prevent them from casting giga while giving you aa iframe. Your smoke bomb can also become a important asset in dodging giga with it if you can predict it correctly but it’s better to save it and just iframe it. If a lancer decides to focus you. The best thing you can do is either out-kite them instead of fighting. With the amount of mobility on ninja you should easily be able to run from the lancer using shadow jump/jagged path. Do not be afraid to pop impact bomb in order to gain distance away from the lancer. While also trying to run from them you can also use jagged path to your benefit to run away from the lancer as well as hitting the target you want with a stagger into stun combo. Watch for Rallying cry. It’s best to save your stun for when he does it however sometimes you can’t. Pledge is also something you should watch for since he reduce any damage taken from their teammates by about 50%. If a lancer block in front of a teammate the person behind them takes 90% reduced damage. It’s best to either stop him from blocking with your staggers. If the lancer does land the triple giga and does considerable damage. This is where you pop your smokebomb on your healer in order to provide recovery for your team. Warrior Difficulty 9/10The prime target I try to focus whenever I see one on the other team in skying. Warrior if left alone can solo anyone on your team. It’s best to play safe and go on them rather then feel sorry 10 second laters when your healer dies in one backstab combo. Warrior are quite predictable where they will be. They have to be in melee range when applying pressure and it is sure as [filtered] obvious when they will go for the backstab 100-0 combo. When you see them backstab do whatever the [filtered] you can do to stop their combo. Don’t go in right away because you will be stunned along with your teammate through the cascade of stuns. The best thing to do when your healer gets backstabbed is to either use one-thousand cuts on the warrior to prevent yourself getting stunned and to stagger him out of his backstab combo. The second thing you can do is throw bladestorm at the warrior to peel him off of your healer. These are the safest options if both of these skills are on cool down be smart and dive in with chakra thrust. You know where the warrior will be when he’s doing his backstab combo so use that to your advantage. If you see a warrior death from above it’s a good time to hit them with a stagger at the end of the death from above into stun combo this is one good tell to watch for to get good chunk of damage on them. If a warrior focuses you. Do not try to ignore them. They will literally destroy you. If a warrior focuses you fight them back but don’t tunnel vision yourself on him. If your teammate opens up an opportunity go in on it. When a warrior is focusing you stay close to your healer but not too close for them to also get hit by cascade of stuns. Trust me the last thing that you want is to be in the middle of nowhere and a warrior backstabs you because you will literally die. Play safe look for opportunities and if you can try to get the warrior low so they will either get off of you and you can finish them or make the perfect opportunity for you to go on the enemy healer to stop him from healing the warrior. Slayer Difficulty 5/10These are my mid tier target that I decide to focus. Slayer are similar to warrior however they do not have the danger of instant burst like warrior does. Their damage comes in chunks. That means if you see a slayer setting up for a kill you have way more time to react to it than if you would with a warrior. I usually leave slayers alone unless I know for sure they can destroy my teammates. If you see your healer on the ground at 30% health you better get your [filtered] over there and peel that slayer off. If they decide to focus you, let your own judgement decide what you should do. I usually fight them back so my healer has less to worry about healing me but most slayers nowadays just want to yolo go on healers. Backstab can easily be counted by using double cut followed up by chakra thrust or straight up staggering them. They really aren’t that big of a danger since their skills are slower and easily dodgable with the amounts of mobility and iframes ninja has. Just play smart and don’t get hit by them because they will hit like a truck if they catch you. Watch for In Cold Blood. If you see the slayer pop it go on him right away. He will solo your healer if he pop ICB and it’s best to either stagger him or combo him so he gets low on health and runs to his healer to get heals back. Other than ICB slayers do moderate damage so be wary but you have much more leeway. Berserker Difficulty 8/10Berserker are dependent on the player. If it’s controlled by a good player you need to focus them as much as possible. The damage they crit for is insane and can literally one-shot people if given the perfect setup. I tend to focus them because I do not want to give them my back because then they’ll do a drive by 120k crit on me. The main skill to watch for is Bloodlust. If you see them pop Bloodlust they’re going for the kill. If they aren’t focusing you then go on them and peel them off whoever they’re going on. If they’re focusing you and they pop bloodlust it’s probably a good time to get the [filtered] away because usually it is also popped with mocking shout and tenacity so there really isn’t a way to cc them. They’re similar to lancer use your reposition skills to get past their block and stagger into stun combo. If they are charging that’s also a good time to go in and cc them into stun combo. If you see a berserker charging and running at you, decoy jutsu is a good skill to use to avoid the thunderstrike. Once you see them waste their evasive roll and no mocking shout, use your thousand cuts to stop their charge and then continue into stagger stun combo. One thing I forgot to mention is that if you get hit by DOOM your kind of screwed. The berserker will proceed to 100-0 you because Doom will make it impossible for you to move making you a sitting duck unless your healer is able to save you. Be careful of them and always stop their full charge. Brawler Difficulty 4/10After getting hit by major nerfs they aren’t much of a threat anymore. They lost one of their major CC skill as well as damage nerfs. Don’t get me wrong ground and pound is still the most broken skill in the game but however outside of it they do not have much kill potential. They are too tanky to focus so I wouldn’t bother in the first place. You should be able to easily out-kite them and save your retaliate for ground and pound. Besides that there isn’t much danger coming from them. Reaper 9/10These are high priority targets. They are just like you fast and squishy. Be sure to outplay them. Their skills are aoe staggers and stuns. Do not get caught with your other teammates in their stagger/stun combo. Skills you can watch for is pendulum strike. When you see them use pendulum strike you can expect a whipsaw coming at someone’s face. When they use pendulum this is the perfect time for you to use Decoy Jutsu as they probably won’t move as much after since they are trying to aim their whipsaw. DO NOT HIT their retribution. They will most likely use their retribution when they use their double dash. Don’t be trigger happy and after you see their retribution end that’s the perfect time to stagger into stun combo. Some reaper like to use shadow burst in the open for the KD. When you see this happen best thing to do is Chakra Thrust a shadow bursting reaper. They are stationary and it shouldn’t be hard to get to them. Dodge the possible smite that comes after you. Smite takes time to hit a target more than enough time for you to either Decoy Jutsu or shadow step it. If you see one of your teammates get hit by smite go on the reaper right away either with thousand cuts or jagged path. Most likely the reaper will go into their grim/sundering combo after smite has landed and will not be paying attention to what’s around them. This gives you the perfect time to setup on him and start with your stun combo on him. Most important of all DO NOT LEAVE A REAPER FREE WITH SHADOW REAPING. Honestly if a reaper pops shadow reaping and it does not get plagued or peeled it’s pretty much gg. Shadow Reaping makes them the ultimate killing machine with a 4 second cooldown stun as well as every other major cooldown skill with a low cooldown. Get on the reaper [filtered] until A he gets regressed/plagued B his shadow reaping runs out or C he’s dead. Ninja Difficulty How much better you are than them.Ah the mirror class. This kind of match up will be about who can land the first stagger into stun combo. For obvious reason you will be going on the ninja and focusing him the entire game unless you see a opening happen from your teammate. Things you can watch for is Thousand Cuts. Thousand Cuts is similar to death from above with warriors. The ending animation is a short frame where they are vulnerable. When you see them go into thousand cuts be prepared to stagger them at the end and follow up for a stun combo. Do not waste your retaliate on impact bomb. The skill usually isn’t followed up by huge damage so it’s okay to not blow retaliate for it. Fire avalanche isn’t too much of a worry after the nerfs however if you see them cast attunement that’s probably a good sign they are going for it. If they stun one of your teammate and proceed to go into fire avalanche this is where you use your smokebomb on your teammate. Besides that after the nerfs to the skill the threat it poses has been minimized. ArcherDifficulty 6/10This class is a risky class to try to focus. Why? It’s because if you focus them they will most likely go for a stagger into kick on you. This is quite deadly since ninja are squishy and ninja will die in a kick combo. My best suggestion would be if your healer that you are with is skilled enough to cleanse their stun trap go on the archer. If not them be extremely careful and only go in on the archer when your staggers are up. When fighting them never give them your back. Ninja are extremely squishy and a archer can easily chunk away 80% of your health if they hit you from he back with a charged arrow. Things to watch for is Kick and stun trap. If you see them kick someone go in on them are stop their combo. If you see a stun trap being placed after the kick be sure to iframe the trap explosion radius and then stop his rain of arrows. Also it’s common for the archer to place traps on himself if he is being focused. Try your best to not step on the invisible traps and if you need to use your bladestorm to sweep him away from them. Sorcerer Difficulty 8/10Similar to archer however their stun traps is much easier to dodge. If you see a sorcerer on the other team they will be your target the entire game till they are dead. Watch out for flame pillar if you are in melee range a sorc will most likely flame pillar into stun trap. Shadow jump right away as soon as you get out of the flame pillar. If you are focusing the sorcerer he will use warp barrier whenever he can to use his skills. When they cast warp barrier count 2 seconds before hitting them which is a good indication to step back as they might decide to cast stun trap during the duration of warp barrier so be wary of that. If a sorcerer is sitting in his traps use your bladestorm to sweep him out of there and a thousand cuts will also work for sorcerer sitting in their traps just be sure to animation cancel the end of thousands cuts or else you will get stunned/kded. If one of your teammates get stun trapped do not let the sorcerer cast fireblast on them. Do whatever you can either stagger/stun. Over all sorc should not be one of your harder match ups as everything from them is dodge able The main reason why I hate this class is Time Gyre. This skill makes you completely useless and vulnerable. If you see a sorcerer lock-on to you be ready to dodge the incoming Time Gyre. You are pretty screwed if you get hit by time Gyre unless your healer can cleanse you Gunner Difficulty 6/10Okay so for gunners you never want to focus them. They are tanky with multiple retaliate along with a early get out of combo stun card twice. Never focus them but also don’t let them hit you like a punching bag. Gunners are harder than lancers to kill and focusing them will only result in you getting stunned with detonate and combo to death. If you happen to fight them I highly suggest you don’t focus but rather the healer or squishier dps. You have multiple iframes so dodging all their main hitting skills should not be hard as long as you rotate between iframes and doing it only when you need to. Gunner usually like to detonate peel when they see their teammate low so when you get a combo off on the healer be wary and probably that’s when you use thousand cuts. Also when you do get a stun off and start a combo on someone move around. Sitting in the same spot when doing your combo is like asking the gunner to hit you because it’s a easy stand still target. If you don’t get what I mean by this let me give an example. You get a stun off on someone and the gunner comes over after the stun you only have time to skyfall and shadow jump backwards to avoid the gunner peel and bladestorm the direction of the gunner to catch the person you’re combing on along with the gunner. Pretty much be flexible with your combo and adjust it when needed. If you have any specific questions that I did not mention here feel free to PM me ingame on Luxrays or Shinxs of MT. If you’re not on my sever send me a private message through the forum I’ll try to answer your question as best as I can. @ThePurpleKnightmareCrit roll on PvP weapon has been out of meta. If you look around rarely people use crit rate as weapon roll because there are better things to roll plus the huge amounts of crit you get anyways from jewelry. 15% CDR sure can help but why would you use Death blossom that often for anyways? You only need to use it once in a emergency to either peel your healer or continuing your combo with them having no retal. The CDR won’t be as useful as straight up damage beacuse randomly throwing Death Blossom out in the blue doesn’t help at all. You need the perfect situation which doesn’t come as often as needed to use CDR skill roll. Cruel is not that good for a weapon crystal. We only have 1 reliable skill that can proc cruel proc with a 20 second+ CD. The uptime for cruel is not worth it. Buring Avalanche also procs cruels but that’s once every 3 minutes when that skills already one-shots. Sure 4 relentless is better without healer but when the [filtered] would you never have a healer? Assuming Skyring/CS/Fraywind/Grid. Trust me Indom are better. It’s impossible to play perfectly to never get hit or caught. I have tried playing without indoms in skyring and i get completely blown up. Not because I’m bad but this is also assuming that the opponent is just as good which is likely the case in skyring. It adds so much survivability without losing much damage it’s worth it. Jurassic World WOW! Jurassic Park Reviewed. The long and short of it here is this film was not bad at all, actually it was great! They did up the WOW factor! Warning Spoilers ahead if had not seen and do not want it spoiled please read this after. Thank you. OK, great story and ideas. The main theme was all about control and how we are not in control and must learn to go with the flow. One of the themes anyway that was woven into the film quite nicely. The boys Gary and Zach, are the nephews of the main head science ...(red head). The redhead, has a problem of letting go and keeping tight control everything. Along with being a workaholic and helping creating dangerous attractions that brings the park into disaster. Rapport Training, this I was worried would be silly but actually it was not at all. Chris Pratt's character Owen was believable and carried the film. The Villains ... a few here actually! The science turning AKA Rapport, snake, frog, and more to create Indoms! The INGEN guy who wants to use Rapports as weapons, really? Let me just say really? Who came up with that idea, it actually might be reality. T-Rex IndomsRex Other Dinos, we do see our usually dinosaurs the big and small. I do wish we had seen a bit more of them and the park before the containment breacer The Toys and Marketing are in full swing, which means lots of kids wanting go. This film is good for most kids. Overall grade is A-, only (-) because I wanted more. What grade would you give Jurassic World?
